![]() I didn’t have much planned for Sunday, so I just kind of laid around in the morning.Įven though I had energy, I wanted to take it easy since this was my first time fasting. I got pretty tired early on Saturday so I just went ahead and went to bed. The whole point of fasting is to flush your system so I drank as much water as I could. I read some warnings about water poisoning and not drinking too much water, but I figured as long as I feel fine I’m good. I always had a water bottle in my hand and was consistently sipping it all day. I didn’t measure just HOW MUCH water I drank that day, but if I had to guess, I would say about two gallons. The rest of the night I spent lounging around on the couch… watching more TV. I wasn’t really hungry at all and actually had a decent amount of energy. I was pleasantly surprised by how good I felt after the movie. I’m pretty sure everyone in the theater hated me. ![]() Or maybe it was just a Fata Morgana… Who knows…Īt 4 PM I decided to go to the movie theatre which turned out to be a bad idea for two reasons:ġ) There was popcorn everywhere and I was very tempted to say screw my fast and get some.Ģ) I’ve been drinking water all day so I had to get up and go pee every 30 minutes. I read in some blogs that others experienced a heightened sense of smell when they are fasting, and I kid you not…I smelled EVERYTHING that day. ![]() ![]() Walking around actually gave me some energy, but I was constantly drinking water to make sure I don’t get hungry. It was probably the only time during the whole 48 hours where I questioned whether or not I would be able to do this for 48 hours.Īfter chugging another bottle of water to drown the hunger I decided to move around a bit… so naturally, I went shopping. I then grabbed one of the bottles of water I stocked up in the fridge and started my Saturday.Īround 12 PM I started feeling pretty weak and had to sit down for a minute. I immediately drank a glass of warm water with lemon which seemed to fill me up pretty well. I usually wake up hungry so no big deal I figured. I woke up on Saturday morning around 8 AM with a growling stomach. Get ready for a fun weekend of chugging water. Otherwise, I just kept on with my day as usual. I also went for a walk on both days to keep the blood moving (moving around and fresh air also gave me a good energy boost). I followed Tim Ferriss’ recommendation and had a 1 L bottle of water with me the whole time, where I squeezed a quarter of a lemon in along with a tiny pinch of salt (this will keep your muscles from cramping). This will help keep the hunger away for a while and will make sure that you don’t dehydrate. You’ll also want to make sure that you drink LOTS of water. ![]() No burgers or pizza directly before the fast, OK? Some people take supplements, but a healthy diet including fish, proteins, and vegetables will do the trick. Make sure you give your body the nutrients it needs. You’ll also want to eat healthy before and after a water fast. Since your body will eventually live off of your stored body fat, it’s important that you’ll take it easy while you’re fasting. Water is the only substance you’ll be putting in your body for the time you are fasting. On the surface, water fasting for 2 days is pretty straightforward. The below is based on my own experience and information I gathered from other sources. Fasting has its risks and any fasts for longer than 2 days should ideally be supervised by a doctor.
